夏洛特抬起頭，莫名其妙地望著列車員：Why do you want to know (你為什麼想知道？)
列車員忙陪笑：Sorry. I am just curious. Wish you a nice trip. See you. (對不起，我只是好奇。祝你們旅途愉快。再見。)
列車員不再檢查其他旅客的車票，大步離去。夏洛特皺著眉頭望著列車員的背影。
劉俊豪：Anything wrong (有什麼不對勁嗎？)
夏洛特：You stay here. (你在這裡別動。)(起身，遠遠跟在列車員身後離去。)
第8章 第8集體育之都的遺憾The Tournament Capital
魁奈爾鎮(Quesnel)。菲沙河(Fraser River)與魁奈爾河(Quesnel River)匯流口，菲沙河上的墨發大橋(Moffat Bridge)，寫有“Quesnel, Gold Pan City”(魁奈爾――金盤市)的藍色大盤，哈德森灣商店(Hudson Bay Store)，柯尼詩水車(Cornish Water Wheel)，水邊公園(Riverfront Park)，等。
18世紀60年代，這個小鎮是淘金者沿菲沙河北上淘金的必經之地。
數輛警車從墨發大橋呼嘯而過。
警車內。
警官甲：Thank you for your information, Sir. We are heading for Quesnel train station. Do you have a picture of the suspects … No …No, don’t do that. Just feel like nothing happens. Okay … We can contact Vancouver RCMP and they will send us a picture. How long will you arrive … Three hours Good. Driving into the station and stop the train but don’t open the door until we get on and find the suspects. Thank you. Bye. (謝謝你的消息！我們正前往魁奈爾火車站。你有沒有嫌犯的照片？……沒有？……不行，不要那樣做。你們還是像什麼事都沒發生一樣，明白嗎？……我們會跟溫哥華王室騎警聯繫，他們會給我們寄照片的。你們多長時間才能到？……三個小時？好。列車開進站停下後別開門，直到我們上車找到嫌犯為止。謝謝，再見。)
火車上。夏洛特急匆匆走回座位，在劉俊豪身邊坐下，神色緊張。兩人小聲說話。
劉俊豪：What’s wrong (怎麼了？)
夏洛特：We need to get off before the train arrive at Quesnel. (我們必須在到達魁奈爾之前下車。)
劉俊豪：How Is there a stop before Quesnel (怎麼下？在魁奈爾之前還有站嗎？)
夏洛特：No. (沒有。)
隔壁座位有一個白人老頭在用手機打電話，不久打完，收起電話。
夏洛特拿出手機，假裝撥號，放到耳朵聽，接著重重地關上電話，小聲地咒罵(無配音)。
夏洛特對白人老頭：Excuse me, sir. (對不起，先生。)
老頭微笑：What can I help you (要幫忙嗎？)
夏洛特：You are so kind, sir. My brother got sick and is in hospital. I want to know his situation. But, uh, my cell phone has no battery. (你心真好，先生。我哥哥受傷在醫院裡。我想知道他的情況。但是，我的手機沒電池了。)
